Making waves at home and regionally
For the fifth year in a row, SIM GE was the title sponsor of the Asian Windsurfing Championships. This year’s 33rd SIM Singapore Open Asian Windsurfing Championships saw increased student and alumni involvement in the oldest and biggest event of the local windsurfing fraternity.

It was a proud moment too for our students and alumni organising this sporting event as it served as the Asian continental qualifiers for windsurfing at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games later this year.

“This year's event is one of the most successfully organised and would not have been possible without SIM GE students. From sacrificing their weekends to attend sessions in race management; to meetings late into the night, our SIM Windsurfing Club showed commitment, dedication and passion for the sport. Proving that GE students can take on anything!” commented Timothy Khoo, SIM-UOL alumnus-cum-President of Windsurfing Association of Singapore.

Mastering the corporate world
and giving back
Kien Fo, or “KF” as he prefers to be known, is Managing Director of Continental Automotive Singapore - one of the leading automobile suppliers worldwide focusing on R&D and technology.

Outside his hectic corporate life, KF finds time to give back to his alma mater. He is now into his second year as an alumni career mentor with SIM GE, sharing corporate insights and giving career advice to our students. His success tip: “Strengthen your knowledge by seeking every opportunity to learn, to get involved and to contribute.”

Recruitment is still open for 2014 Alumni Mentorship Programme, so we welcome you to give back like KF.

Lifelong Learning
Seize new learning opportunities and open new doors in life
That’s the tip from SIM-RMIT alumna Dr Stella Wee, CEO of Dover Park Hospice. She began her career in banking but her corporate life took a new path when she seized the chance to do her postgraduate studies.

A devoted life-long learner, Dr Wee enrolled in our MBA (International Management) programme. “I was interested in the international aspect of business and management,” she said. “It opened a new vista to me on how companies operate. She eventually went on to a PhD in Business Management and contributed back to her alma mater by serving one term on the SIM Governing Council.

SIM GE offers an exciting line-up of postgraduate studies programmes which many alumni such as Dr Wee have benefited from. Visit our website today to see what new doors in life await you.
