Editor's note
As we move forward into the Year of the Snake, we trust that our alumni, more than 100,000 strong, are already seizing the abundant opportunities that the year brings.
At SIM Global Education, we continue to offer you benefits and platforms to connect everyone. In this issue, we invite you to explore how SIM Mandarin Business Management Diploma Alumni, one of the most active and vibrant alumni networks, keeps members engaged. We are also introducing the SIM Professor You Poh Seng Scholarship, which all interested alumni may apply for if you are looking to advance your credentials.

Translated from Latin, "Swifter, Higher, Stronger" is a motto not just for Olympians, but also for folks just like you. You have completed your basic tertiary education, and this university degree has helped to launch your career. But all of us can and should aim at being swifter, higher and stronger in our skill sets.
To help you in your educational pursuit, SIM offers two Scholarships - You Poh Seng Scholarship and Richard K M Eu Scholarship. The bond-free scholarships, valued at S$100,000 each, will be offered to outstanding students starting their fresh postgraduate/undergraduate studies for the academic year 2013/2014.
"This scholarship presents a perfect platform for students looking for more freedom in charting their future, which is something that may not be offered by many other scholarships," says 2012 scholarship recipient Choo Jianhui Bryan.

Fancy a cuppa of success?
"The daily pour in itself is the biggest challenge to a barista because he or she must ensure quality in every cup. Same as in life, when we give our best tackling even routine challenges, we'll find our cup of success," say Shane Lee and Diana Chew, the young, gungho owners of 6oz Espresso Bar.
Sensing the opportunity to serve specialty coffee and gourmet pastries to busy office workers in Singapore's Central Business District, the pair of 2012 SIM-RMIT alumni started a sleek, modern, 60-seat al fresco coffeehouse even before they graduated.
Find out how their study experience at SIM GE equipped them to run a successful business.
