SIM Diploma graduates encouraged to help others succeed
500 graduands received their Diplomas at the SIM Diploma Graduation Ceremony on 4 December 2015. At the ceremony were the graduands from the 1st intake of the Diploma in Banking & Finance (DBF).
The DBF graduands were joined by those from the longest running SIM certificated programme, the Diploma in Management Studies (DMS), and the Diploma in Accounting, Diploma in International Business and the Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management.
Dr Timothy Chan, Director, Academic Division, SIM Global Education, highlighted that graduates will not only need to have the right skills, but also the potential to learn new ones. Using the acronym ‘ACAD’, he encouraged graduands to have aspiration, curiosity, ambition and determination.
Guest-of-honour Harold Kwan, Director & Advisor – Human Capital & Career Strategy of HK3 Asia Pte Ltd, and an alumni of the DMS programme, encouraged graduands to not only pursue their own success but also to have the bigger vision to find time to share and help others to succeed as well.
Harold Kwan’s speech recounted his own experiences as an SIM DMS student, and said that it provided the foundation for him to pursue further studies, including another Diploma, and a Bachelor and Masters’ degree.
