Sharing as one family
The month of November was one of sharing for the SIM GE alumni family. Local alumni in Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh cities were reunited and reconnected with each other as well as SIM Global Education (SIM GE) which was on its Overseas Alumni Chapters (OAC) initiative.
Kicking off first on 14 Nov in Jakarta, SIM GE management and alumni staff reconnected with our own Indonesian alumni, some of whom graduated as early as 2007 and in attendance for the first time, Mr Antonius Taufan, the young CEO of Gift Card Indonesia - a popular and fast-growing e-gift business start-up - was invited to share entrepreneurship and market insights with local alumni. More significantly, the event also saw the inauguration of the Jakarta OAC Committee led by Felicia Octora Husada (University of London, Class of 2014), and 3 fellow alumni - Febronia Kiong (RMIT University, Class of 2014) and Carla Julian Wang Sahardja (University at Buffalo (SUNY), Class of 2012).

Catching up with old friends and making new ones
Next up on 28 Nov was Ho Chi Minh (HCMC), which was last visited by SIM GE in 2011. Our much anticipated return this time draw a spontaneous turnout of alumni, from past to fresh graduates even. Besides the candid sharing by Mr Phuoc Nguyen, Country Director of The Oddle Company - an online order and delivery of some of the most established F&B businesses - on motivations and challenges of starting up his e-business, the evening was also the inauguration of our HCMC OAC Committee - Le Bui Kim Son, Sonny (RMIT University, Class of 2008), Truong Lan Chi (University of London, Class of 2012) and Hoang Hanh My Dung, Daisy (RMIT University, Class of 2015).

A 'must-take' shot at all our overseas visits
All in all, both OAC events marked the key milestones of having seen the birth of the local OAC Committee helmed by native alumni who epitomized the identity, pride and spirit of the global GE alumni community - sharing as one family.
