“To 50 years of fulfilling aspirations, yum…seng!”

These celebratory cheers reverberated through SIM’s Grand Hall as alumni from across five decades came together to toast their alma mater on 11 July 2014. In conjunction with SIM 50th anniversary celebrations, SIM Global Education (SIM GE) Alumni Relations department and SIM University (UniSIM) Office of Student and Alumni Affairs joined hands for the first time to organise the combined Homecoming for the entire SIM alumni family.

About 300 alumni – young and old, associate lecturers, staff and senior management – attended the dinner. Prominent SIM alumnus Denise Phua (Class of 1985 Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management, SIM), Deputy Chairman, GPC for Education, was the Special Guest on this joyous occasion hosted by radio celebrity Vernetta Lopez (Class of 1994 Bachelor in Business Administration, RMIT).

An all-alumni cast of F&B vendors was on hand to provide food and drinks, while SIM GE students performing clubs provided entertainment for the evening. The evening ended with the heartwarming outpouring of memories and birthday wishes from those present, with one unmistakable common theme – WE are one alumni family!
