Baby joy at Hanoi alumni reunion

A BOUNCY baby boy named Bun is the result of a serendipitous encounter at SIM International Student Night in 2009 between Nguyen Tung Linh and Bui Thuy Linh, two students with the 2010-2011 Accountancy and Finance course at the SIM-University of London programme.
The Hanoi couple, now with their baby Bun, were among 45 alumni at the Overseas Alumni Chapter reunion dinner at Melia Hotel, Hanoi, on November 2, 2013.
The event was planned and hosted by the alumni themselves, right down to the singing performance by Truong Nhat Hoa (RMIT major in Economics & Finance, 2012), who is currently taking her Masters in International Business and Affair with Thang Long University, and by Nyugen Hoang Giang (UOL major in Banking & Finance, 2011). Both songbirds are also working in HSBC Bank (Vietnam).
“Thanks to SIM, I got both an education and a husband!” said Bui Thuy Linh with a chuckle, holding her boy in arms. She is a risk controlling officer at Maritime Bank (Vietnam), while her husband helps run his family business in trading car spare parts.
Also present that evening was Mark Harris, SIM GE’s senior lecturer who taught Economics to many of the folks present. They have affectionate memories of his dedicated teaching even after class hours, and came up to him to remind him that they have benefitted greatly from him.
