SIM voted top private school choice
SIM was voted number one for AsiaOne People's Choice 2008 Top 10 Private Schools in Singapore, garnering 75% of all votes cast by AsiaOne readers.
Readers had to vote from a list of competitive schools. This was the first time that the private schools category was included in the survey, which also included categories like luxury living, games, restaurants and credit cards. Our students from the SIM-RMIT Bachelor of Design (Comm. Design) programme have done us proud ! They've won the Student Calendar Competition 2008 organised by Antalis. A regional competition, students from design institutions in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand pitted their creative minds to interprete the theme "NO TIME".
Of the more than 60 entries, 12 were selected to be showcased in the calendar. A total of 4 entries from Singapore were selected for the calendar, and all four were by SIM students. What a resounding win!

- SIM-RMIT's Bachelor of Design (Communication Design) students have done it again! Our students have swept both top prize and all finalist positions at The Antalis Money Packet 2009 Competition. They beat 60 others from the private and public educational institutions in Singapore to impress the judges with their creative entries.Congratulations to Mak Yuan Shan Joyce (top prize winner) and finalists: Low Xue Ling Natalie, Lee Hui Yee, Gue Ai Gi Ivy and Tan Mui Ling Pearlyn.
SIM students score wins at Spirit of Enterprise (SOE) Student Interviewer Awards 2008
The Best Student Interviewer Awards 2008 was won by Khairul Amin, a SIM-University of Wollongong's student from the Bachelor of Computer Science (Digital Systems Security) programme. Khairul impressed the judges with his talent and skill in the field of research and for his in-depth interview reports on nominee entrepreneurs. Maya Kusumah Jap, a student from SIM-RMIT's Bachelor of Business (Management) full-time programme clinched a consolation prize.
This is the third consecutive year that SIM students have bagged top prize at the SOE Awards.
SIM-UOL's student clinches 1st prize in SPH Search-Rednano Apprenticeship Programme 2008
Chen Tong Yu, SIM-UOL's BSc Business student came out tops in the SPH Search-Rednano Apprenticeship Programme 2008. SPH Search is a collaboration between two media powerhouses - Singapore Press Holdings Group and Schibsted ASA. Tong Yu beat 12 other finalists from NUS, NTU, SMU & MDIS to clinch 1st prize, while SIM-RMIT's Bachelor of Business student, Joy Cheng Min Yee was one of the two runner-ups in the competition.
2nd prize won at the T for Thyroid T-shirt Design Contest
SIM-RMIT's Bachelor of Business in Accountancy student, Nur'ain Anuar, has won 2nd prize in the T for Thyroid T-shirt Design Contest (tertiary level category B). Organisers for the competition were Conrad Health-Guard Products Pte Ltd and Hong Kong Thyroid Association Limted. Students had to design a T-shirt around the theme " T for Thyroid" to raise awareness of the disease and patient support in the community.
SIM wins 2008 Best International Marketing Effort by a Private Educational Institute
SIM was named winner in the category of "Best International Marketing Effort" by a Private Educational Institution at the Singapore Education Awards. The awards organised by Singapore Tourism Board honours industry's best in positioning Sinagpore as an education hub and establishing service excellence in the various areas of education services provision.
SIM's win is significant as it validates SIM's regional business and marketing efforts. The award recognises that we have effectively promoted both SIM and Singapore as an attractive destination and marketed ourselves with integrity.
SIM-RMIT's Bachelor of Design student leads team to win at Real Ideas Studio's Cannes 2008 Student Film-making Programme
Saleem Hadi - SIM-RMIT Bachelor of Design (Comm. Design) Student cum Director has scored big overseas. Together with his team Impulse, they were one of three teams who won at the Distinguished Community Documentary awards (Community Challenge category). Their work 'Take' revolved around Singaporeans take on death through a series of interviews. 'Take' was shot in a single day and its production costed only $1. Their documentary was selected from 36 entries from around the world.
"Bad things can happen to you, but we wanted to show death in a positive way" said this director.

SIM-RMIT's Bachelor of Design students win again at Future Talent Awards 2008!
Our full-time students have done it again ! They clinched both 2nd and 3rd places at the Future Talent Awards 2008. The theme of the competition was 'Leading the S-League to digital victory' and our students were able to transform the business strategy behind the theme to its creative fruition.
Congratulations to Tan Jack & Samantha Yong (2nd place winners) and Jeremy Yang and Lin Hanbin Ashton (3rd Place winners).
A gold, silver and bronze medal were clinched by SIM's student athletes at the annual Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) games.
SIM-RMIT's Bachelor of Design Students Show their Winning Creative Minds
