Key to understanding how organisations and societies use and exploit e-business and social media
This programme discuss the role of e-business and social media in contemporary organisations through an analysis of the underlying development and use of e-business and social media in the organisation. it examines the impact on markets, organisations and societies, also the technological and business innovations that have contributed to the growth of e-business and social media.
You are required to submit coursework, including computer-based work. You will need access to a standard PC with standard database, spreadsheet, programming language and word processor software. All these are available in the SIM computer labs.
This programme is not a technical one, but rather focuses on the business models and strategies derived from the technologies, as well as the opportunities and challenges associated with their introduction.
At the end of the programme, students should be able to understand how organisations and societies are able to exploit new information and communication technologies; also understand how social aspects are affecting the development and deployment of e-business and social media in organisations.
