Student Life in SIM GE
The Career Development Office consists of Career Guidance & Internship, Employer Engagement and Alumni Engagement units. For career guidance & internship, we provide programmes and opportunities that help our full-time students gain a practical understanding of the working world, assist students in making the transition from academic life to careers of choice.
For employer engagement, we reach out to industry and corporate partners to create internship or employment opportunities for students while providing talent acquisition for companies. We offer platforms such as Career & Internship Fair, company talks and visits, career chapters for employers and students to network and seek the right talents from our student pool.
For alumni engagement, we broaden and deepen alumni linkages to cultivate mentorship, internship and employment opportunities through progressive establishment of local and overseas chapters. Membership is automatic and free for life, and alumni may tap into career support initiatives, networking platforms, access campus facilities or partake in reunions and gatherings.
Global Learning is responsible for providing SIM GE students with a raft of overseas summer/winter programs, service learning trips, global competence development workshops and a student society that promotes the internationalization of campus life. The goal is to help our students orientate their attitude, acquire knowledge, develop skills and enrich their learning and global experience.
The vision of the Student Care Department is to develop resilient individuals who lead healthy, effective, and balanced lives. The Student Care Department plans and organises programmes to equip students with knowledge skills and attitudes for healthy and effective living. Structures are also in place for the provision of counselling services or peer support to students who face challenges and need help.
The Student Development Department strives to meet the preference of all our students.
Attend specially organised leadership or personal development workshops or get on stage to sing, dance or act. Row a boat, throw a punch, or kick a ball. All these exciting activities are just waiting for your participation. With more than 70 student organisations that cater to cultural, artistic, intellectual, and sporting activities, students can be sure to find one or two that interest them. For those who are altruistic, SDEV also organises community service projects that help to spread the smile to the less fortunate.
Beyond the fun and games, students will have the opportunity to plan, organise and manage these activities, helping them grow as a leader and improve organisational and people skills.
